Dear Parents and Carers,
As we come to the end of the Spring term, it’s a great time to reflect on the many successes and achievements we’ve seen throughout the term. Our students have worked hard, shown resilience, and taken part in a range of fantastic activities and opportunities that have enriched their learning and supported the development of key skills.
One of the highlights of this week and as part of our World of Work curriculum, students in Elm class had the exciting opportunity to visit Pizza Express. They not only learned how to make their own pizzas but were also able to enjoy the delicious creations at the end of the session! It was a wonderful chance for our students to gain hands-on practical experience and have fun in the process.
We were also incredibly grateful to receive generous donations of Easter eggs from the St Ives Tesco store and Penzance Tesco store. A huge thank you to Jason Cutler for organising these donations for the school. The Easter egg raffle was drawn this morning during our whole school celebration assembly, and all funds raised will be put towards the outdoor learning resources and development of the Forest School project. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on how this funding will support our students’ experiences in the coming term – watch this space!
I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks to all of you for your ongoing support this term. It’s been a wonderful term of growth and achievement, and we’re excited to see what the summer term will bring. I wish you all a very happy and restful Easter holiday.
Happy Easter!

Cherries Class:
This week, we’re hopping into the Easter spirit with lots of fun activities for everyone! Whether it's arts, crafts, or outdoor games, there was something fun for everyone!
In addition to the Easter fun, we’ve wrapped up our mini beast topic with some fantastic hands-on learning! The children explored different habitats, learning where mini beasts live and how they survive. We even got creative by making our very own clay mini beasts, and we couldn’t forget the giant dragonfly we crafted together!
It’s been a week full of learning, creativity, and lots of joy!

Palm Class:
In our science lessons this week, we’ve been diving into the wonders of space and the stars. We had a closer look at the different constellations and explored how they got their names. To make it even more exciting, the children recreated these star patterns using raisins and marshmallows! It was a fun and hands-on way to bring the constellations to life. The students were fantastic throughout the lesson, showing great creativity and enthusiasm in their learning. Keep up the great work, everyone!

Juniper Class:
This week has been packed with exciting, hands-on learning in Juniper Class! Here’s a quick look at what we've been up to:
In Computing, we have been diving into programming with Bee-Bots and Scratch. We have been exploring directional commands.
In Maths, we have been exploring the concept of capacity through fun, practical activities with water and sand. We have been deepening our understanding of capacity by actively measuring and comparing different amounts.
In Science, we have been getting to grips with classification. The class has been sorting animals and plants into different categories based on their unique characteristics, expanding their knowledge of the natural world.
It’s been a fantastic week filled with discovery, creativity, and lots of fun!

Elm Class:
Pizza Making Adventure!
Elm Class recently had a fantastic trip to Pizza Express in Falmouth, where they got to step into the shoes of a chef for the day! The children had a great time crafting their very own pizzas, carefully selecting their favourite toppings. From pepperoni to fresh vegetables, the choice was theirs!
Once their delicious creations were baked to perfection, the class enjoyed devouring their homemade pizzas under the warm spring sunshine. It was a fun-filled day full of laughter, learning, and of course, tasty food!

Maple Class:
Baking and laughter have been our highlights this term in Maple Class! For Red Nose Day we used our switch board to explore sounds that made us giggle! We also had lots of laughter and fun in our cookery sessions as we explored the ingredients, followed instructions and made our beautiful cakes to celebrate those important to us! Extra points if you can spot the mischievous egg on the floor!

Artist Holds Exhibition to Shine a Light on Disabilities
A mixed media artist from Penzance, Michael Mules, is using his first exhibition to bring attention to the disabled community. Living with cerebral palsy, which affects his right arm and both legs, and partial blindness, Mules has overcome numerous personal challenges to pursue his passion for art.
The exhibition, titled Barthusek, is being held alongside fellow artist Michael Knight, and aims to celebrate creativity while highlighting the unique perspectives and talents of artists with disabilities.
Don't miss the opportunity to experience this impactful exhibition and witness the incredible work of two artists pushing boundaries and challenging perceptions.
