Dear Parents/Carers

I'd like to begin by saying a huge thank you to all our parents and carers for your wonderful support of the recent Easter raffle. Thanks to your generosity, we raised an impressive £231.40, which will go directly towards purchasing new books for our school library. Your contributions continue to make a real difference to our learning environment—thank you!

This week, we were delighted to welcome visitors from the RNLI, who delivered a highly engaging and informative assembly to both our primary and secondary pupils. The session was a great opportunity for our students to learn about water safety in a memorable and practical way. There was also opportunities for us to explore the and discuss the topics in individual classes across the week.

Following the recent coffee morning, we’d love to hear your thoughts on the focus of future events. Whether you’d find it helpful to explore specific topics or would simply enjoy a relaxed space to connect with other parents, your input is invaluable in helping us shape these gatherings. Please do email Lisa Smith with any suggestions: lsmith@nancealverne.org.uk  and we look forward to many more events in the summer term.

Enjoy the long weekend and I do hope that the sun continues to shine! We look forward seeing all the children back on Tuesday 6th May. As always, thank you for being such a supportive part of our school community.

Elm Class:

It’s been a busy and exciting week in Elm Class! The children have been putting their design and food prep skills to the test by creating their very own smoothies. From choosing ingredients to blending the final product, they loved every step of the process—and, of course, the tasting! Alongside their culinary adventures, Elm Class have also been developing their rugby skills during their weekly sessions, showing great teamwork, energy, and enthusiasm.

The visit offered a great opportunity to learn about beach safety, and everyone loved getting a close-up look at the lifeguard uniform and flags. It was a fun and memorable experience for all!

Apples Class:

In Apple Class, we've been learning all about the important people who help us in our community. As part of our topic, the children created a beautiful thank-you sign to show their appreciation. This special sign will be delivered to the local fire station later today. We’re so proud of their thoughtful work—photos to follow soon!
