Dear Parents and Carers,

As we come to the end of a short but busy half-term, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on some of the fantastic events and experiences we've shared as a school community.

One of the standout highlights was our wonderful VE Day Garden Party, where students and staff came together to celebrate, learn, and enjoy the spirit of the occasion. It was heartwarming to see everyone embracing the day with such enthusiasm.

We also hosted an engaging Careers Fayre, giving our students the opportunity to explore a wide range of potential career paths. The event sparked many great conversations and inspired our young people to think about their futures with curiosity and ambition.

Looking ahead, the next half-term promises to be just as exciting. We’re looking forward to Mazey Day, Sports Day, and Arts Week – all fantastic opportunities for creativity, collaboration, and fun.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support. We wish you a restful and enjoyable break and look forward to seeing everyone back soon for another action-packed term!

Warm Regards

Ruth Carpenter

VE Day Celebrations:

We had a fantastic time celebrating VE Day outdoors in the beautiful sunshine! The afternoon was filled with joy, music, and community spirit.

Our talented choir gave a wonderful performance that truly captured the spirit of the day, and everyone enjoyed a spread of delicious food. It was heartwarming to see children and staff coming together to mark this special occasion.

A big thank you to everyone who helped make the day so memorable – it was a celebration to remember!

Careers Fayre:

This term, we held our second Careers Fair in the hall and it had a fantastic atmosphere! With a strong focus on vocational pathways, the event gave KS4 and KS5 students, along with a few enthusiastic KS3 pupils, the opportunity to explore a wide range of future options.

The hall was filled with energy and interest as students met visitors from Access Cornwall, Cornwall College, the Careers Hub, Cornwall Wildlife Trust, the Minack Theatre, NHS Internships, Truro & Penwith College, Proper Job, The Kehelland Trust and St. Michael’s Mount.

It was fantastic to see so many students asking questions, gathering ideas, and engaging with the providers. A big thank you to all the organisations who supported the event and to the staff who helped make it happen.

Willow Class:

Willow Class had a fantastic time celebrating VE Day! The children created wonderful decorations that added a festive touch to our classroom and garden. They also thoroughly enjoyed a special garden party, complete with fun, laughter, and community spirit.

In addition to the celebrations, Willows have been working hard across all of their lessons, showing great enthusiasm and determination in their learning.

Well done, Willows! Keep up the great work!
