Dear Parents, Carers and Families,

Welcome back! I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable half-term break, although this does seem like a long time ago now. It’s been lovely to see the children return with such energy and enthusiasm for the final half-term of the year.

Last week ended on a real high with our fantastic Sports Day. It was wonderful to see so many families joining us to support their children and celebrate the spirit of teamwork and participation. The smiles, laughter, and encouragement from the sidelines truly made it a special day for everyone involved. I’d like to give a special mention to Hannah Tonkin for their brilliant organisation of both Sports events, primary and secondary. Hannah’s hard work ensured that all our children and young people were included and able to fully access and enjoy the events.

In addition, a big thank you also goes to our amazing staff team, whose support, enthusiasm, and dedication helped keep the day running smoothly and made sure all our pupils remained engaged, motivated, and most importantly, had fun!

We’re looking forward to a busy and exciting half-term ahead, with many more whole school events planned. We can’t wait to share these experiences with you and celebrate our school community together.

Finally, we want to wish our sixth-form students the very best as they set off next week on their Duke of Edinburgh practice walks next week from Wednesday to Friday, which includes two overnight stays. This is a fantastic opportunity for them to build independence, resilience and teamwork, and we’re proud to support them on their adventure.

Sports Day:

We had a fantastic Sports Day filled with energy, excitement, and plenty of smiles! The children enthusiastically took part in a variety of races. We were especially lucky that the rain held off, allowing us to enjoy the day outdoors.

A big thank you to all the families and friends who came to cheer on the participants—it was wonderful to see such strong community support and involvement. We’d also like to extend our sincere thanks to the staff for their hard work in planning and running the event so smoothly.

It was a day to remember!

Palm Class:

This term, Palm Class has been enthusiastically developing their rugby skills during PE lessons. With a focus on teamwork and coordination, the children have been learning key techniques such as passing, evasion, and tactical movement. Their confidence has grown week by week, and it’s been fantastic to see their energy and enthusiasm shine through. Well done, Palm Class!

Communication boards

We’re excited to share that new communication boards have been installed in our playgrounds! These boards are a great way for everyone to make requests, share ideas, and communicate with friends during playtime. They help support inclusive communication and encourage all children to express themselves confidently.

We look forward to seeing the boards in action as part of everyday play!
