ISSUE

Dear Parents, Carers, and the Nancealverne School Community,

As we reach the end of what has been an exceptional term, I want to take a moment to reflect on the wonderful achievements and events that have made it so special.

This term marked the successful opening of our Upper Site, a monumental step forward in expanding our facilities and providing even more tailored support for our pupils. Additionally, we are thrilled to announce the launch of our new satellite provision at Cury School, which will officially open its doors to pupils on the 7th of January. This exciting development will allow us to extend our inclusive, nurturing environment to even more children and families in our community.

We also welcomed a host of new staff to our team this term, bringing fresh energy and expertise to our school. Their dedication and passion have been invaluable, and I am so proud of how seamlessly they have integrated into our remarkable team.

The festive season has been a joyous time here at Nancealverne. We were delighted by a visit from Father Christmas, who brought smiles and excitement to our pupils. Our Christmas Dinner and Christmas Fayre were both wonderful celebrations of togetherness and community spirit, and our end-of-term Celebration Assemblies highlighted the hard work and achievements of our students.

None of this would have been possible without the incredible effort, enthusiasm, and commitment of our entire school team. To our staff, parents, carers, and everyone who supports Nancealverne School, I extend my heartfelt thanks. You truly make this community remarkable.

As we look forward to the new year, I wish you all a restful and joyful holiday season. We can’t wait to see what the spring term will bring as we continue to grow, learn, and thrive together.

With warmest regards,

Pippa Pyrah

Deputy Headteacher

Our Early Years children have had a fantastic half term participating in Rugby with members of the Cornish Pirates rugby club. They’ve been learning lots of new skills and having a lot of fun whilst using their energy.

Santa Claus has come to town!

We were lucky enough to get a visit from Santa Claus himself in school this week! It was so exciting to welcome him to our school and the children received some lovely presents to enjoy.

Thank you Santa!

Following class fundraising with an amazing triathlon effort, Willow class attended a performance of Jack and the Beanstalk at the Hall for Cornwall, an experience filled with laughter, excitement, and memorable moments.

The venue itself, located in the heart of Truro, was a wonderful setting for this classic pantomime. From the moment the curtain rose, the students were captivated by the vibrant set design, dazzling costumes, and lively music. The production brought the well-loved tale to life with a delightful mix of humour, adventure, and audience interaction.

The Hall for Cornwall staff were friendly and accommodating, ensuring that the experience was seamless from start to finish.

Overall, Willow’s trip to see Jack and the Beanstalk was a resounding success. It was a magical outing that combined theatre, community spirit, and timeless storytelling, leaving Willow with fond memories of an enchanting performance.
