ISSUE 009

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you are enjoying our more frequent newsletters. We have so many exciting opportunities every week as part of our broad and varied curriculum- it is great to be able to share them with you all.

Lauren and Steph, our Home School Liaison Team, are now fully settled in at Nancealverne. Please do come along to our coffee morning if you can. If you cannot make it they are available to talk, either on the phone or in person, during the school day. We all know January can be quite a tough month- so even if you just need a listening ear- they are here for you.

Please do keep checking our website and also twitter @NancealverneS for more updates of the busy and fun times here at school.

Wishing you all a great weekend,

Pippa

School Uniform

Could we please remind all parents and carers that at Nancealverne we encourage all children to wear the agreed uniform. We understand that this can be difficult for some children, and we can be flexible to everyone's individual differences.

If you require help in purchasing uniform, we can support you with good quality second hand uniform, or financial assistance. Please contact one of our home school liaison team, Steph, in complete confidence. We are always happy to help!

We are very lucky at Nancealverne to have our own swimming pool where the students can access the water during the school day.

With permission from her mum, Rebecca (class teacher) would like to highlight Aurora's first every hydrotherapy swim! She had lots of fun exploring the water with her hand, moving it around watching the light movements reflecting on the water.

Well done Aurora!

Don't forget that our parent and carer coffee morning is coming up on the 24th of January between 10.30amm and 11.30am in the school hall.

We'd appreciate it if you could let us know if you are attending (so we can  buy enough biscuits!) and if you have any dietary requirements. Please email Lauren on: lladd@nancelaverne.org.uk or call the office.

We would love to see as many of you there as we can!

Palm Class went to Zennor last Wednesday to support our work on the Mermaid of Zennor - we had a walk down to the sea mermaid spotting, then a visit to the church where we drew the mermaid chair, and finally a stop for a drink/ice cream.  As Jacob said "That trip was dang amazing!".

We have also restarted the tuck shop last week, shopping, cooking and serving food every Thursday morning, in the STEM room.  It was great to have so many pupils and staff coming along to support us!

Following the trip to the TATE Gallery, Evergreens now have the opportunity to take part in three project sessions in school with the TATE team, taking inspiration from the Barbara Hepworth exhibition that they saw. The first of the three sessions started Thursday with a splash of creativity! Everyone really enjoyed getting stuck in and developing their sculpture work. A big thank you to the TATE team who delivered such a dynamic and fun project for our students.
