ISSUE 010

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you for your support with the parent coffee morning this week. It was a great success and so good that so may people were able to attend. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy lives to support the school and each other – we are planning many more events across the year for you and your families to be able to visit the school.

The NEU teacher strike day is planned for next Wednesday 1st February. We do not anticipate any major disruption to the school day at this stage and we plan for the school to remain open to all pupils. If this changes over the course of the next few days, we will communicate to any classes which may be affected. Thank you for your understanding of this situation.

This week we have been lucky enough to have the Tate gallery artists in working with our sixth form pupils. They have been designing sculptures based on Barbara Hepworth sculptures and creating an immersive display for the sixth form area. We will share photos as soon as this exciting work is finished!

INSET training day Friday 27th – please remember that the school is closed to all pupils.

Have a great weekend when it arrives.

Ruth

Thank you to everyone who came to our first coffee morning! It was so wonderful to see and talk to so many parents and carers whilst enjoying a cuppa and some cake.

We have booked in our next coffee morning for February 24th between 10.15 and 11.30am. We have representatives from Penwith college coming to join us - they will do a short presentation before a Q&A session over tea and coffee.

If you would like to join us please let Lauren know by emailing: lladd@nancealverne.org.uk or calling the school office.

Here Maple Class students are taking part in switch based activities. We are using our physical skills to activate the switches, before then using our visual skills to locate and track the effects we have made. We are also using our cognitive skills to learn about cause and effect. As you can see our class favourite switch toy is the UFO light.
