ISSUE 011

Dear Parents and Carers,

We have had another busy week at Nancealverne with plenty of learning opportunities for the students including Zumba, horse riding and swimming.

This week is both Children's Mental Health Week and Internet safety day (7th) so with this in mind please look through our website for tips and resources regarding Internet safety and ways to help your children navigate the online world safely.

With half-term fast approaching we'd like to take this opportunity to remind you about our next coffee morning which is on Friday the 24th of February between 10.15 and 11.30am. Come along to meet representatives from Penwith college to talk more about their provision and ask any questions you may have. This event is open to parents of students of any age, so please do join us if you're able to.

Have a great week!

Lauren & Steph (Home school liaison team)

Children's Mental Health Week is run by children's mental health charity Place2Be to shine a spotlight on the importance of children and young people’s mental health. This year's theme is Let's Connect.

We are having an express yourself day on Friday the 10th of February where children (and staff!) come in dressed as they wish for a donation to Place2B.

More details of this will come to you in due course!

Acorns EYFS class have been out on our weekly welly walks. This week we watched the huge wind turbine moving and also met the firefighters returning to the fire station. In class we have been pretending to be on an aeroplane: finding our numbered seats and asking the cabin crew for our snack and watching the safety video.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind you that our computing lead is available to talk about any concerns you may have about your children and their life online.

We will be having a regular e-safety spot on our newsletter from now on but if you require further advice or guidance please contact Jamie Woolcock on: jwoolcock@nancealverne.org.uk
