ISSUE 012

Dear Parents and Carers,

As the half-term draws to a close, we would like to reflect on what a successful and happy six weeks it has been. We are very fortunate to have a dedicated staff team that provide an enriching and aspirational experience for our pupils.  We have welcomed new staff to our team, and they have really enjoyed getting to know the school and pupils- it is as if they have always been here!

Today we have all enjoyed an ‘Express Yourself’ day- at the end of Mental Health Week. Difficulties with our mental health can effect any of us- please know that we are always available should you need any support, or even just to have a chat. Lauren and Steph have a comfortable new home/ school liaison room, and the kettle is always on.

We wish you a happy half-term break. Let’s hope the sun shines for us.

Pippa

Maple class have had a busy week with weather stories, visual work and the open orchestra with Verity!

Open Orchestra is a pilot project where we are trying to make Music accessible and enjoyable for everyone. We have been given access to Clarion which is a musical app that allows you to play music through shapes and colours. We are in the beginning stages where we are creating music profiles for our orchestra members where they are learning to express themselves and identify their musical preferences. We are learning that some pupils like it loud, some like it fast and some pupils want to be the conductor.

Juniper Class took part in the RSPB ‘Big Schools Birdwatch’ this week. We spent time outside looking and listening for some wild birds and identifying the different species we could spot!
