ISSUE 003

Dear all Parents and Carers,

There have been many successes in school this week. It has been fantastic to see all the positive relationships that have formed in the new classes.

Thank you to everyone that made it to the ‘Meet the Teacher’ meetings last week. It was a pleasure to see you all.

There is such a purposeful feeling across the school. We have had a great start to the year with our phonics and reading offer, with all pupils and staff enjoying some new books.

Our 6th Formers have also started working towards their Duke of Edinburgh Award.

In order for our amazing team to be at their best, we always aim to support their health and well-being. We had a fantastic ‘Staying Well for Winter’ teacher’s meeting this week and all shared some great ideas for what we can do next to support each other.

Please remember that if you need any help or support with your own well-being please contact Steph or Lauren, who are always available for a cuppa and chat.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend,

Pippa Pyrah

(Deputy Headteacher)

Have you got any old wellingtons and children's coats?

If you have any old/unused children's coats or wellington boots, we would really appreciate having a stock at Nancealverne for various outdoor activities.

If you can help, please drop them in at reception as and when you can. Any sizes/items we cannot use or do not have room for will be donated to local charities/food banks.

Thank you.

Our upper sixth form class are holding a bake sale next Thursday to raise money for their potential residential trip next year.

The sale will be open to staff and students with a range of delicious treats to buy for 50p each.

There will also be a raffle after the sale with the prize being a whole strawberry cheesecake. Tickets are available from Upper sixth form from now for £1 a strip.

Don't miss out!

As well as the bake sale, Upper sixth are running a fundraising session at the soft play centre in St Johns Church, Penzance.

All money raised at this session will go towards the sixth form class trip planning.

So if you have a young child who isn't at school yet and would like to support us by attending the session, please do come along.

We really look forward to seeing you!

As the academic year is in full swing, we want to remind you of the importance of regular school attendance. Consistent attendance is a critical factor in your child's education.

We understand that there may be circumstances where your child cannot attend school due to illness or a family emergency. In these cases, please notify the school as soon as possible. If you know your child is going to need to be absent during school time please speak to one of the office team to get an absence request form and return it, so we can look at your request. Please note this is only for exceptional circumstances. Thank you again for your support with this.
