ISSUE 008

Dear Parents and Carers,

Another fantastic issue of our newsletter to share with you this week.

We'd like to share with you all the feedback from a peer review that took place at Nancelaverne school during this week. The peer review involves other headteachers in the Trust, school improvement partners and the director of SEN visiting our school for a day.

The day consisted of lesson observations for all staff and lots of questions for the Nancealverne leadership team in Ofsted-style review sessions. The purpose of the day was to review standards in the school, teaching and learning, quality of education, leadership and management, behaviour and values.

"Thankyou so much for hosting the Peer to Peer visit to your school yesterday.  It was a privilege to see the work going in in your school and the excellent provisions you make for your pupils.  I hope the day was a useful learning process for the team in the school , it certainly was for all of those visiting. The key things that I took away from my time in your school yesterday are;

  • The pupil centred approach of everything you do – including the skilful and thoughtful way lessons were planned and delivered.
  • The care and commitment of the team  - this was evident in the planning and the interactions, but also in how well you maintain and manage your environment and use and care for resources.  Classrooms and displays round the school look lovely.
  • The way you work together as a team – even though its hard work there appeared to be genuine team work , care and support for each other and humour!"

"Thank you for a great day. It is always a privilege to come and see the amazing work being done in other schools. You should all be very proud and please pass on my thanks to the rest of your team."

"I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest appreciation for the incredible experience I had at your school. It was an absolute pleasure to be a part of your educational environment for the day, and I am truly impressed by the level of professionalism displayed.

The peer-to-peer review was a true testament to your commitment to excellence. I was thoroughly impressed by the open and constructive discussions that took place among the staff. It was inspiring to witness the genuine enthusiasm and willingness to explore different ideas to enhance the learning experience for your students. Your dedication to professional development and ongoing learning is truly admirable.

I would like to extend my sincere congratulations to each and every one of you for the outstanding work you have done. It is not an easy task to create a school environment that is both nurturing and academically rigorous, but you have undoubtedly achieved that balance. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed, and I am confident that the impact you are making on the lives of your students is immense.

Once again, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your school community for the day. It was a privilege to witness the incredible work that you do, and I am grateful for the opportunity to learn from each of you. Keep up the exceptional work, and may your dedication continue to inspire and empower generations of students to come.

Thank you too, to the other colleagues around the table yesterday who contributed with valuable and insightful contributions.’"

"I would like to thank you all for today. You are truly amazing and have such a wonderful knowledge base between you. In these difficult times it is great you are able to give up your time to support one another. As many of you know, I am not usually prone to such outbursts, but I am truly impressed"

"I would like to echo your words. It was a great day and it is a privilege to work alongside such a great team. Also a huge well done to team Nancealverne and thank you for hosting us all today."

As you can see above - the feedback was overwhelmingly positive for the school and the team. We wanted to share it with you all as we are incredibly proud of what we have achieved and how the school team continue to work tirelessly to support the pupils at our school.

Best wishes,

Ruth Carpenter

Headteacher

Palm class took a trip to Truro on the train to see the Gaia exhibit in the Cathedral. The exhibit features detailed NASA imagery of the Earth's surface and was an incredible sight to see.

The Christmas market is fast approaching!

We are so excited to welcome you to our market this year! We've got some amazing stallholders coming to delight you with their handmade gifts. We are also being joined by 'The Thrill Grill', who are going to be parked in the car park serving amazing hot food, and the Cornerstone Cafe, who will be selling cakes, sweet treats and waffles!

Staff will be manning a hot drink corner as well serving tea and coffee for a donation, as well as juice/water.

As part of the market, we are holding a raffle which will include another batch of our hampers. This year's colours are going to have a Christmas theme of Red, Green and Purple! Similarly to last year, we will split the colours up into classes:

Acorns, Sycamore and Chestnuts: Red

Juniper, Elm, Palm, Willows: Green

Maple, Lower Evergreens and Upper Evergreens: Purple

Please drop any donations for the hampers to the school reception before the end of the day on the 7th of December. As usual, there is no pressure to donate - we know times are hard and there is no expectation.
