Leadership and Management

Governing Body

We have 8 governors, in consultation with the Head Teacher, provide the strategic lead for the school. The full Governing Body meets every term and all governors sit on one or more of the following committees: Teaching & Learning Group, Leadership and Management Group, Pupil Premium, Safeguarding, Health and Safety/Appeals and Disciplinary.

The Governors take and full and active part in the school by:
  • meeting with Curriculum Co-ordinators and providing reports to the Governing Body
  • conducting Learning Walks
  • Meeting parents
  • taking the lead on specific projects
  • conducting health and safety checks
  • joining termly safeguarding positive communication meetings with DSL/DDSL/HSL
  • Termly data/Teaching and learning meetings with SLT
The governors also attend a range of courses and those who are Trustees of the Special Partnership - MAT  attend Trust meetings and represent the school on the Trust Committee.

School Leadership Team

The school's Leadership Team provides the direction of the school by giving both strategic and operational support across all aspects of the school.

The Leadership Team comprises of the Head Teacher and Assistant Head Teacher. The extended Leadership Team includes Phase Leads and a member of the support staff team.

Middle Leadership Team

The Key Stage Phase Leads plus the Curriculum Co-ordinator of Maths sit on the Middle Leadership Team and are responsible for helping to improve teaching and learning across the school. The emphasis of the middle Leadership Team is on  promoting high standards of education, pupil progress and curriculum development.

Class Teachers

All teaching staff are responsible for the co-ordination of a curriculum area and provide support and guidance to other colleagues. Teaching staff contribute to the rationale of the curriculum; intent, Implementation and Impact.

All class teachers provide leadership to their support staff teams and are responsible in making sure that their staff are given professional development opportunities in the classroom.
