Home learning is an important part of a child's education. It can help to consolidate previous learning and encourage thought toward the next topic and aspects of learning. There is no whole school policy in regards to homework at Nancealverne. Every child has a school reading book and a reading record. We encourage everyone to sit and read (or be read to) every evening as this is an important step to learning to read and a good routine to maintain.
Each class teacher has the option to set her own homework or distant learning task as they deem appropriate. This could be learning spellings, researching a topic or project or watching something particular at home. If homework is set then it should be completed in the allocated timeframe and questions about this can be directed towards the relevant class teacher.
Please see the eschools class areas via parental login for information on homework set.
