Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to our school

At Nancealvene School, we offer specialist, high-quality education for learners aged 3-19 with moderate to complex learning difficulties. We are proud to champion the learning, growth and wellbeing of every pupil. Our staff and Governors share a strong commitment to raising aspirations and ensuring that all children and young people thrive. Learning is delivered through a rich and varied curriculum, supported by structured, differentiated and personalised plans designed to meet individual needs. There is always a focus on personal development, academic progress and ambitious expectations for all.

Our provision now extends across three sites: Nancealverne School, Nancealverne Upper School (Post-14 provision) and Cury School (a satellite provision of Nancealverne).

We are dedicated to celebrating all achievements and offering a wide range of rich, meaningful and varied opportunities that prepare out pupils well for adulthood and life beyond school. Our aim is to foster a love of learning, promote independence and ensure that learning is inclusive and accessible for all. Our students are encouraged and supported to access resources, activities and opportunities within the local community and further afield.

Nancealverne School is part of the Special Partnership Trust – a dedicated, ambitious and inspiring collaboration of specialist settings across the South West focused on excellence in learning for everyone. We are committed to ensuring that every student, regardless of need or location, has access to the best learning opportunities possible. We believe in balancing challenge with support, nurturing the strengths, talents and skills of every learner.

At Nancealverne, we believe that every child should have the opportunity, and the support, to reach their full potential, recognising that this will look different for each student.
